Packing for Greece

It’s coming…

2 weeks in Greece in early autumn. Kids are back in school, tourism has slowed, but the weather will still be fantastic! Historical temperatures in Crete range between 15 and 29°C.

Packing for a 2-week trip to Greece isn’t going to be much different than what I packed for Thailand/Vietnam last year.[1] What is different is that I hope to do some swimming and a lot more photography on this trip. So, I’ll give you a run-down. This is what I packed for photography last year:

  • Laptop (and soft case), charging cord, electrical adaptor, USB storage stick (I will still need to have some (hopefully limited) contact with the office while I’m away, and to write and post on my blog.)

I will be adding the following to this year’s packing list:

  • waterproof case for my Samsung cellphone

  • extra battery pack

  • water shoes, snorkel & mask,🤿swimsuit👙

  • watercolour set and paper (in case I feel inspired to paint)🎨🖌️

And for fun, and to match the blue and white 💙🤍flag of Greece, most of my wardrobe will be in those colours. Keep an eye out for posts! Particularly when travelling, sticking to two or three colours makes mixing and matching your clothes easier.

Please note that I am not being sponsored for any items listed, I attach links purely out of the possibility that some of my readers may be interested in these products I recommend.

Please send me your suggestions (comment below) for places to visit in western Crete, or packing items I may have missed.

P.S. Thanks to my friend Heather who will be house/plant-sitting 🪴for me while I’m away!

[2] Yes, I use my cellphone camera - it is why I chose Samsung as they have great cameras on their phones. While I own a good Nikon DSLR, it is heavy to carry all day (and takes up weight in my luggage). Also, I broke my neck in the Navy and carrying anything around my neck for an extended period of time is just plain painful!
