Sudan needs you
The world’s state of affairs feels like I’m being pulled in so many directions. The US has despicably and illegally destroyed the Middle East [1] and is causing the breakdown of Cuba,[2] but we shouldn’t forget what is also happening in the Sudan.[3]
The screening of the 2025 film Khartoum in Calgary this past Saturday was a reminder that other places on this planet are also struggling. The film was screened by local studio 1919, as a fundraiser, and included a Q&A with one of the five producers, Timeea Mohamed Ahmed.
This documentary covers the lives of 5 citizens of Khartoum during the aftermath of the violent outbreak of civil war which started in 2023.[4] The film had its world premier at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. It is an emotional film and I highly recommend everyone to view it.
