There has been a major shift in Canada-US relations!

American President Donald Trump has openly said that he feels America should control the entire Western Hemisphere.[1] He has murdered hundreds in the name of taking over the largest oil reserves in the world (Venezuela).[2] He has targeted Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Canada and now Greenland. He has sent ICE officers into Minnesota where they killed an American citizen.[3] He has announced increasing the military budget from $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion,[4] and using force is always an option.[5] Then on January 7, 2026 the US withdraws from 66 international bodies.[6]

Canada has sided with Greenland, Denmark and NATO against Trump.[7] Canada will open a new consulate in Greenland in February, 2026. PM Carney has accepted an invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss “trade, energy, agriculture and international security.”[8]

My take on this (as a veteran) is that the American President and his evil aides have decided to take over the planet (starting with the Western Hemisphere).[9] They don’t care about international agreements or international law, they don’t even care about their own citizens. Decades of trade and security support through NATO and NORAD are off the table. The American media that is under Trump’s thumb are painting Canadians as ‘treacherous’ - which is ABSURD! If anyone is treacherous it is Trump and his words and actions on ignoring Canadian sovereignty.

I’m writing this and sharing these links not as a means to panic Canadians, but to wake them up to the menace on our border. We know there are many wonderful Americans south of the border that are equally disturbed by all the Trump sabre-rattling, and we look to them to call for Trump’s impeachment and do what is necessary to rid America of this psychopath from the presidency. It isn’t too late for America to regain some credibility on the international front - but that moment of time is quickly slipping away.

For Canadians, I recommend you prepare for what may be coming. Have plans in place, and stand up for Canada. Call on our government to sanction America and do what is necessary to protect our way of life. I know I am. I’ve been in war zones and I don’t ever want to see that for Canada, but the current situation has me very uncomfortable. All the actions Trump is taking are those of a tyrant, pulling away from international laws and agreements so he can pretend he won’t be accountable for these and future atrocities.
