Exploring Blackfoot Crossing
Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park is located where Indigenous peoples could cross the Bow River and was an area for bison hunting and gathering of the Siksika and their allies of the Blackfoot Confederacy. It is located just a short distance south on Highway 842 off of Highway 1, about an hour and 20 minutes drive east southeast of Calgary. My friend Taryn and I stopped to check out the museum and walk along some of the trails overlooking the river.

Late June wildflowers were in bloom all over the hills.

I was very impressed with the number of artifacts and clear descriptions held in the museum. Unfortunately they do not allow anyone to photograph any of the objects. I definitely recommend visiting this site as a day trip from Calgary.
