Every once in a while you come across a book that speaks to you. Garden Journey does that for me.
I too, like to journal, to garden and to paint…but have never put them all together. Terrie Shaw has opened the window to her world in an intimate and beautiful portrayal of her life. The lovely sketches and washes of paint, mixed with her family stories and recipes makes you want to peek over the fence to get a glimpse of this special place.

Her tale about her ‘Mom’s Red Poppies’ struck a cord. I remember my own mother tending plants in her garden that she had received from her mom. I too, have plants in my apartment that I lovingly care for because they were donated to me by my mom.
It is these peeks at her life through her art and her prose that brings the reader along on her journey. Those familiar images and stories easily resonate. I can hardly wait for the fall to try her Leftover Thanksgiving Cups recipe!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and it has inspired me to once again pick up a brush. This lovely book will be a favourite on my shelf! 📗🐝
