Iced tea, please!
Calgary has the most bizarre weather of any place I have lived. One week you have a hail storm and the next it is 30°C! I might want to curl up and have a hot chai one evening and be craving a lovely iced brew the next.🧋
It’s almost summer and I thought I would share some great tips for drinking iced beverages. Following are some of my favourites.
I personally feel you can strongly brew almost any tea (white, black, green, oolong, herbal) and add some ice and it will be great! I do like to add a couple of pieces of fruit to iced tea (blueberries🫐 or pineapple🍍 are my favourites). This adds a slight fruity flavour and a touch of sweetness without being overloaded with sugar.
I’m sweet enough! 😊
I make my ice cubes in a silicone mini muffin tin - they pop right out!!
If iced tea isn’t for you, but you love iced coffee, I will share this tip. I didn’t know it was a thing, until I mentioned it a couple of times and people seemed surprised. Perhaps you’ve already thought about it, but if you haven’t here it is.
Make coffee cubes!
So when you brew a Bodum of coffee and have a bit left over, you can make ice cubes out of the coffee (and compose the grounds for your garden). That way when you have iced coffee it doesn’t get watered down when the ice melts!
If you’re looking for something a bit stronger, I have a new favourite hot weather beverage, a coconut chili margarita! 🥥🌶️🍋🟩Enough said….it has everything I like in a single glass. I feel this drink was made just for me! 😜[1]
Feel free to share your preferred beverages in the comments below! Have a refreshing summer! 🍹🏖️
