Into the Sun
My favourite song on ‘Arirang’ is by far ‘Into the Sun’. Honestly the Korean part sung by Kim Namjoon gets me every single time. His voice in this is so emotive and spectacularly smooth.[1] You can listen to the song on Spotify or YouTube.
The song was collaboratively written by the members of BTS, with V (Kim Taehyung) taking the lead. The full English translation of the lyrics can be found on Genius. I have written the translation of Namjoon (RM) and Jin’s parts below:
“(RM) The hour of the dog and wolf
The compass of the broken beasts
The refuge that we seek
A human with a breath, rebels
I just wanna go home to where you are
Where the grass grows and the stars set
Please pass the fire into this oil
You are wonderful
The moon probably won’t be coming out today
(Jin) And if we run out of time
I’ll chase the feeling
Never too far behind”
The meaning of the song as I interpret it is about strong devotion between loved ones. The entire song’s lyrics has been described by BTS as, “a reminder of all seven members being together. It is frequently interpreted as a deep, reassuring message to ARMY, assuring fans that the group will always be there for them through both "dark days" and in the light.” [2]
This entire album is incredible, but if I had to pick - because of this melodious verse - it would be ‘Into the Sun’. I know I will support Kim Namjoon and BTS until the end of my days. No other musician has ever given me such strength and joy!
Borahae (보라해)!💜
Also, big CONGRATULATIONS to BTS at the 2026 American Music Awards - Winner of Song of the Summer ‘SWIM’, Best Male KPop Artist, and Artist of the Year! You deserve all these accolades and more!
[1] IMO not since ‘Wild Flower’ has his silky voice been so well presented.
