Library of Alexandria مكتبة الإسكندرية
Their official webpage - Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
“...the enemy who burned the great library of Alexandria without so much as a fine for all that is overdue. Oh, Septimus! — can you bear it? All the lost plays of the Athenians!”
I wanted to share some photos from my visit to the Library of Alexandria (October, 2025). This is a magnificent institution and a wonderful museum.
The stunning architecture that is the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Mostafa and I spent a good part of a day walking through the library and the museum. There was lots of art and historical items in the stacks. The museum is on the lower floor. There are separate prices for the library and for the museum.
The beautiful design of the interior of the library.
There were also a couple of galleries of artwork. Below are two pieces - left by Ahmed Abdel-Wahab,[2] right by Mohie El-Din Hussein.
I snapped over 170 photos from the library and the museum, if you are looking for a particular image, please feel free to reach out.
